Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in power within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
